From the west, take the Long Island Expressway (LIE,
I-495) eastbound from the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Manhattan or the Throgs
Neck Bridge or Whitestone Bridge in Queens to exit 62 and follow Nicolls
Road (Route 97) north for 8 miles. The main entrance to the University
is on the left.
From the west (Manhattan)- Take the Long Island Expressway
(LIE, I-495) eastbound from the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Manhattan (I-495)
From the north (Bronx)- Take the Throgs Neck Bridge
(I-295) or Whitestone Bridge (I-678) to the Long Island Expressway (I-495)
From the south (Staten Island / New Jersey) - Take
the Verrazano Bridge onto the Belt parkway (I-278) east. Follow to the
Long Island Expressway (I-495)
From Kennedy Airport - Take the JFK expressway (I-678)
north to the Van Wyke expressway (I-678) north to the Long Island Expressway
(I-495)
From LaGuardia Airport - Follow the Grand Central
Parkway south to the Long Island Expressway (I-495)
Once on the Long Island Expressway (I-495) take it
east to exit 62. Follow Nicolls Road (Route 97) north for nine miles. The
entrance to the University Hospital where the Basic Sciences Tower is and
Pharmacological Sciences is to the right.Park in the parking garage
near the Hospital main entrance.

By Train
Take the Long Island Railroad's Port Jefferson line
from Pennsylvania Station in Manhattan to Stony Brook. The train station
is at the north border of the campus and bus service to the central campus
is provided. Some trains
require changing at Jamaica Station and some at Huntington Station. Here
