Project: I am interested in damage recognition during global genomic NER. My project involves the use of novel photoreactive DNA adducts to crosslink proteins closely associated to the DNA lesion. My goal is to better understand the mode of damage recognition by the first factors to arrive at the lesion, namely XPC-hHR23B, TFIIH and XPA, and also to elucidate the hand-over of the DNA following recognition.
