Students with a wide variety of undergraduate majors have had very successful graduate careers in this Program. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the Program, coursework in Physical Chemistry and/or Physiology is strongly recommended. Organic chemistry is a prerequisite for admission. A typical applicant will also have taken upper-level undergraduate courses in Biochemistry and at least one of the following: Cell Biology, Genetics or Neurobiology. Members of minority groups and prospective applicants with post-baccalaureate laboratory-based research experience are encouraged to apply.

The Graduate School's Deadline for receipt of applications and all supporting materials is January 15. Please note that our Pharmacology Graduate Program has a rolling admissions policy, which means that we review and decide on applications until our Fall Class is filled. It is, however, in the applicant's best interest to have their completed application and supporting materials received by the January 15 deadline.
Approximately five to seven students are admitted per year, to maintain a total of 30 to 35 Program students.
All accepted applicants have until April 15 to make their decision to accept our program's offers.

Note for International students: We receive hundreds of requests for application materials each year from sites outside North America. Due to the expense of international mail, we strongly recommend that all international applicants use the electronic short form. Please submit the form by November 15.
