What do I like the best about my administrative position? Our Pharmacology graduate students! They're the BEST! (Naturally, I am a wee bit biased.)
From the moment that an applicant applies to our program until they hand in their electronic dissertation to The Graduate School, I am in the process with that student!
The road starts slowly for most students and finishes so quickly! During orientation I tell our new students that sometimes the graduate student road can be bumpy, but I am like “AAA!” I will do my best to assist and help out our students as they “drive along “on their graduate school journey!
There is a special satisfaction for me as students pass each benchmark in their graduate career. But my VERY favorite day is the special day that one of our students defends their Doctoral Dissertation! As I proudly sit in the audience, I am mesmerized by the confident, well-educated scientist standing before their power-point presentation communicating their scientific research to their peers!
And, yes, I do enjoy our monthy pizza meetings!
