Dear MSTP Directors and Administrators:
The 2008 annual meeting of the Academy of Clinical
Laboratory Physicians and Scientists (ACLPS) will be hosted by the
University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia June
5-7, 2008.
ACLPS believes that the role of Laboratory Medicine
will continue to grow in importance and therefore requires professional
competence, dedication, scholarship and the best medical talent. The
annual meeting is a great opportunity for senior MD/PhD candidates
to learn about new concepts in clinical laboratory testing and to
network with ACLPS members who are trendsetting physicians, laboratory
scientists and academics in specialties such as:
Clinical Chemistry
Hemostasis/Thrombosis Microbiology/Virology
Genetics
Immunology Molecular Pathology
Hematology
Medical Informatics Transfusion Medicine
This year's program is shaping up to be an exciting one, and will
include:
--a pre-meeting
workshop on Flow Cytometry
--a plenary
session on "Clinical Translational Research" and
--a plenary
session on "The Clinical Laboratory of the Future"
In addition to
presentations by ACLPS Young Investigators
The announcement for the upcoming ACLPS meeting and the forms for
submission of abstracts are posted. Please see link for details.
The deadline
for abstracts is Friday, February 22nd.
We hope you will share this information with your MD/PhD candidates
and invite them to attend this year's meeting in Philadelphia.
