Abstract:
Title:
The MBP1-Myc interaction as a unique determinant of malignancy
in prostate cancer
A conserved region within the myc oncoprotein, Myc
box III (MbIII), is known to affect myc function.
However, little is known about the how MbIII does
so. To understand MbIII's mechanism of action we are currently
screening for proteins that specifically interact with this region.
We are also investigating a possible link between MbIII and normal
metabolic pathways that are altered in cancer. Finally, we are determining
whether MbIII plays a role in a specific type of myc proteolysis.
