The following message has been sent on behalf of the Office of Scientific Affairs.
I am pleased to announce the Awardees for the 2016/2017 Targeted
Research Opportunities Program. This year’s program is supported by the
School of Medicine, Office of the Vice-President for Research, and the
Stony Brook University Cancer Center, coupled with major philanthropic
support from the Carol M. Baldwin Foundation, the Catacosinos
Foundation, and the Walk-for-Beauty Foundation.
The success of this program is facilitated by the voluntary
participation of 32 Stony Brook faculty who willingly provided their
time to review the proposals despite busy schedules. This year, 13 seed
grants have been dispersed to 9 distinct departments; and 9 of the
principal awardees are Junior Faculty.
The School of Medicine anticipates ongoing support of this important
program, and we encourage non-awardees to apply for subsequent
opportunities.
