Pharmacology Graduate Program alum, Dr. Luisa Escobar-Hoyos

Assistant Professor in Pathology at SBU and Postdoctoral fellow at MSKCC, has been named the 2017 recipient of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network- AACR Pathway to Leadership Award. This award was bestowed on her at the AACR Annual Awards Dinner in Washington DC, earlier this week and it is notable that she was the only individual to be so recognized this year. This five-year award is designed to support the future leadership of pancreatic cancer research by funding outstanding early-career investigators in a postdoctoral, mentored research position and continuing through successful transition to independence.
