Cinthia Alvarez-Buonaiuto Recently Received Two Awards for Art Work She Did in Her Class on Social Injustice

President’s Purchase Award (Stony Brook Senior Art Show)

Stained glass window series on social injustices entitled: "Practice What you Preach - Truth Illuminated"
This award is given annually to senior art majors whose works, in the judgment of the studio art faculty, demonstrate originality, imagination, and mastery of craft. The art works become part of the University's permanent collection and are displayed in University offices.

Congratulations Caitlyn Cardetti for Being Selected as a Recipient of an AAUW American Fellowship

Congratulations Caitlyn Cardetti for being selected as a recipient of an AAUW American Fellowship for the 2021-22 award year. Founded in 1881, AAUW is one of the world’s largest sources of funding for graduate women, due to the generosity and legacy of generations of AAUW members. These prestigious awards are highly competitive and selective, and provide financial support to assist in achieving academic and professional goals.

The Induction of Our Chairman, Michael A. Frohman to the Stony Brook Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors

It is with great honor that we acknowledge the induction of our Chairman, Michael A. Frohman to the Stony Brook Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI-SBU.)  Recently 12 new members were inducted and 3 honorary members to the Academy. The newly inducted academic inventors have held patents issued by the US Patent and Trademark Office. With these 15 new members NAI-SBU now has 103 NAI members, including 12 NAI fellows.
